The project, led by Northern Grampians Shire Council, involved collaboration with Southern Grampians Shire Council, Borough of Queenscliffe, and Moyne Shire Council in Victoria, Australia. The councils needed an interactive visualiser for their commercial areas to help users find specific permit information quickly and efficiently.

Challenge

The councils required a visual tool that would allow users to navigate a city street featuring a mix of heritage and modern shops, a camping site, and a public swimming pool. Users needed to find permit information such as footpath trading, planning approvals, and food premises registration. It was crucial for the councils to be able to update annotation positions and content as regulations changed.

Solution

Comprehensive 3D models were created based on the councils' specifications and rendered into high-quality imagery, then integrated into an interactive commercial property visualiser used by the participating councils. The visualiser was embedded on each council's website using an iframe, and a backend system was implemented so developers could update the visualiser content, including annotation positions and text, keeping permit information accurate and current.
